OH LOOOK!
Well, hello there.
Today I sent out the fourth of my monthly Questful letters, with tips and tactics for living a more creative and Questful life.
If you’d like to receive these, you can sign up here.
One of the sections shares a Questful quote. And this month it was:
‘You can miss your stop, you can miss your train, but don’t miss out on your life!’ — Danielle (March 2026)
This is a recent note to myself, and I wanted to share it with you.
Why?
With all the tech devices we have in our hands, it’s easy to miss out on being in our physical environment, and connected to it.
Ask me how I know!
Last night, at the end of a long week, I was so far in Slack-message-land that I missed my tube stop, overshot, had to double back and missed my train home.
Yes, there was a later, slower train and I got back to the South West eventually. But GAH!!!
By the time my husband picked me up from the station, I shuffled into the passenger seat of our car, and stared through the windscreen, zombie style. But…even in my bleary-eyed state, I can report that me watching the world paid off! As we neared home, I suddenly yelled: OH LOOOOOOOK!
Fortunately, he’s used to my exclamations, and didn’t crash. He patiently pulled over and stopped, so I could fully take in this sight:

A horse under a lampost!
DELIGHTFUL!
Worth pulling over for.
Worth stopping to take it in.
Worth taking a moment to truly observe it, and experience it—even when more than tired, and a little ratty and over it.
You can miss your stop.
You can miss your train.
But don’t miss out on your life.
If you feel like you’re missing out on your life, I highly recommend trying a Quest. One of the Fun Four is about observation. And you don’t need a magical horse to make it happen. We’ll design it so you’re guaranteed a fun adventure. You can find me here.
